20mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary Special Impression

When I go out to create an image I have already planned my image in my head—I know what I want—so to pick those lenses I need for my workflow the SIGMA 20mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary was the ideal. With the SIGMA 20mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary I was able to capture enough information in the files to work with because I like to shoot wider as I need, then I can crop it in post-processing as I want. It is better to have more information in the files than less. Lightweight, high quality and trustworthy. The weight is so low that you don’t feel it in your camera bag when you go for a long walk or hiking and that’s very important.

First of all I immediately fell in love with the focal length. The SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG OS HSM | Art is the lens that I always have attached to my camera no matter what, it is a true workhorse. But being able to get just a bit wider experience through the 20mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary made me give a lot more thought into every shot. It gives you a bit of perspective distortion of the object you’re shooting depending on what angle you shoot it from which you can gain so much advantage from this—capturing a wider scene and playing around with lines in a personal way.

The first impression I got of the new SIGMA I series lens, the 20mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary, it was solid and sound. I’ve been familiar with the I series, but the product quality still amazes me. It works perfectly with the fp L and produces excellent image details. It is also so light and small that it does not wear me out even after long hours of shooting; it even makes me feel comfortable. As I am on the slight side, I really appreciate gear that does not put great strain on the neck or shoulders, for it allows me to stay light on my feet during a shoot. Where the focal length is concerned, I find 20mm to be excellent for capturing the grandness and splendor of the landscapes of Hokkaido, which is my main shooting ground. I have had many instances where 20mm fits the bill perfectly when 24mm is too narrow and 18mm too wide.
