Lens Heater Retainer

The Lens Heater Retainer is a protruding lip at the front of the lens. When the lens is used in conjunction with a lens heater, the Lens Heater Retainer stops the heater from over hanging the front element and causing vignetting. Lens heaters prevent condensation and night dew during nightscape photography such as astrophotography.
