SIGMA fp Impression 05

We are co-creative director of the Parisian clothing label Études and publishing house Études Books.

Photography occupies a central spot for both our photography practice and our daily creative research we do within our studio.

The images selected were shot in a few days in Paris, during our daily wandering between where we live and our studio is located. The images represents a collection of moments, fragments, landscapes, we put some attention to take a look at. The composition and tight cropping of our photography takes out some information of context and perspectives to make it hard to identify. Yet this fragments of reality are self-sufficient and can finally tells a lot about what we like, who we are and gives overall clues on our design and collection.

We were at first impressed by the design and the compact aspect of the camera. It look beautiful, the minimal design, the graphic logo and details were just very pleasant.

We mostly use film camera and the usage of the SIGMA fp camera felt a great experience to dive in. We used the fp with SIGMA 45mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary, its compact and evolutive format gives it a very easy utilisation. The camera and its different mode and the navigation are extremely simple to use. It allowed us to be very agile and playful with the control of the image, adjusting easily the exposition light, the focus and the aperture in a second. Shifting from photography to video is child’s play. We imagine it will also be a perfect camera to carry around while traveling and to do portrait.

All that to say that the SIGMA fp is definitely a great camera for everyday use at work, to archive, to share high quality images and a perfectly polyvalent camera to shoot more personal images for our photography practice. Its multi-usage strong ability makes the fp a camera we can carry around everywhere.
