SIGMA fp Style 02

I have taken the SIGMA fp with me on walks. It was a new experience for me, as I usually don’t have a camera with me on my strolls, only an iPhone, perhaps. Normally, when I decide to take photographs of something, I leave the house with heavy equipment—a tripod, lenses, batteries and lots of gear that will be of help in unforeseen conditions. It was a joy to go outside with a camera in my hands that is so light I could essentially skip instead of walk. Though a light camera body usually becomes bulky once you attach a lens to it, combining the SIGMA fp with the SIGMA 45mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary lens was a very small and light setup. I feel that I could let it hang from my neck all day long without problems.

All the pictures I took were shot near my house. There are no events of larger significance captured in them. I pressed the shutter button in moments when the way things looked to me right there and then seemed precious. Even though moments like that occur often in everyday life, it’s rare for me to capture them. Usually, they look different in photos than how I saw them, anyway. Of course, this is to be expected since the camera is different to my eyes, and sometimes the results are interesting anyways. But with the SIGMA fp, I found that I could capture anything that caught my eyes—the light or the atmosphere of a certain moment, for example—exactly how it appeared to me. And when I tried to adjust the scene a little in my head and see them in a slightly different way, the camera responded to my wishes precisely and directly.

In other words, I feel that this camera corresponds very well with my own eyes.
